Lions Emergency Box : a joint initiative that can save lives

Launched in 2023 by the Lions Club Luxembourg Erasmus, the Lions Emergency Box project quickly established itself as an exemplary community initiative. Officially presented in January 2026 at Luxembourg City Hall, this device aims to facilitate and speed up the response of emergency services to homes when every minute counts.

The Lions Emergency Box is a yellow box containing a medical form with essential information: current treatments, medications, implants, or important medical data. Placed in the refrigerator door, a location universally recognized by emergency services, it allows for quick identification thanks to stickers affixed to the front door and refrigerator.

Aimed primarily at elderly, isolated, or vulnerable people, this initiative is currently being rolled out as a pilot project in the capital. No fewer than 5.000 boxes are being made available free of charge to residents via the City of Luxembourg's Bierger Center.

The result of close collaboration between the Lions Club Luxembourg Erasmus and the City of Luxembourg, the project also has the support of the Ministry of Health and numerous institutional partners. It is a fine illustration of the Lions' commitment to the safety and well-being of all.

"We connect you"

We promote digital inclusion for seniors

Today's society, economy and way of life are strongly influenced by digital technologies, which are rapidly spreading into all areas of life. In this digital world, with its myriad services such as e-mail services, social networks, information services, Internet telephony, video conferencing, streaming music and video, etc., many seniors feel excluded and overwhelmed, and fear losing touch on these digital highways.

A program that gives seniors easy access to the digital world

To help overcome the isolation of the elderly, German Lions Clubs developed a program before the pandemic to give seniors, people with dementia and people with disabilities easy access to the digital world. This initiative also helps people who have grown up with digital tools, but are now overwhelmed by age. Under the name "We connect you", many people have already learned how to use digital tools in complete safety. The initiative is aimed primarily at senior citizens living in care facilities such as retirement homes.

How to switch from Token to LuxTrustMobile application

As part of the “We connect you” project, we'd like to refer you to the “GoldenMe” website, a highly instructive site created by the GoldenMe association, an ASBL (non-profit association) under agreement with the Luxembourg State which, like us, is concerned with the digital inclusion of senior citizens, and whose aim is to prevent social isolation through digital training.

“GoldenMe” has drawn up a detailed guide to help its target group switch from the LuxTrust Token to the LuxTrust Mobile application without any major problems.

You'll find all the information you need on their website.

Lions Club Mameranus promotes digital inclusion for seniors

An innovative pilot project is currently underway at CIPA Gréngewald in Niederanven.

The Lions Club of Mameranus is convinced that the "We Connect You" initiative, combined with the Lions Comfort tablet, will help people actively find ways out of loneliness and isolation. In addition, the initiative should also show all our fellow citizens ways out of digital illiteracy.
