DELHAIZE JUNGLINSTER SUPPORTS THE FOOD BANK ASSOCIATION
This Wednesday, the Delhaize Junglinster supermarket helped the association Banque Alimentaire de Luxembourg to help the most needy. Customers had the opportunity to support the association by offering foodstuffs of their choice which will be of great help to people in precarious situations. After the checkout, customers could drop off the products at the collection point at the entrance of the shop. Volunteers from the Syniverse company were on hand throughout the day in the supermarket to inform and guide customers who wished to support this charitable action.
Delhaize Luxembourg regularly organises actions to help local associations. It is in this context that a collection point was set up this Wednesday in the Delhaize Junglinster supermarket to support the Food Bank. "For Delhaize it is very important to support associations that care for the well-being of Luxembourgers. We are happy to be able to contribute to this charitable action by supporting the inhabitants who have difficulties in doing their basic shopping", says Cédric Gonnet, Country Director of Delhaize Luxembourg. Syniverse set up this teambuilding action for this charity in Junglinster. "We want to help our communities at a local level and have a positive impact in the places where we operate," says Oriane Margeotte, Syniverse's human resources business partner.
Customers are guided by signage in the shop: flyers have been distributed, posters hung and shelf-stops placed in front of products reserved for the association.
Customers could choose from a range of dry and long-life products to support those in need: oils, canned meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, tomato sauce, pasta and rice, cereals, biscuits, baby food etc.
