NEW MEDICAL AID FROM LUXEMBOURG FOR ZAPORIZHZHIA
Following an initial shipment in mid-July, ASBL LUkraine and Lions Club Luxembourg Xenium are sending a second medical aid truck from Luxembourg to the town of Zaporizhzhia.
The truck carries medical equipment (respirators, microscope for operating theatres, refrigerator for medicines, etc.) donated by the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg and consumables such as syringes, needles, gloves, gowns, etc. supplied by ASBL LUkraine.
The equipment is destined for the Zaporizhzhia Regional Public Hospital for Infectious Diseases. The hospital's management is very grateful to Luxembourg for this assistance:
"The 2 lorries sent by Luxembourg since the beginning of July are the first medical humanitarian aid we have received since the start of the war".
The town of Zaporizhzhia, which has a population comparable to that of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is located 60km from the front line and is seeing an influx of refugees and wounded civilians.
This second shipment was made possible thanks to the financial support of Lions Club Luxembourg Xenium and International (two of the 24 Lions clubs in Luxembourg) and Lions Luxembourg - District 113 (umbrella organization for all Lions clubs in Luxembourg).
The associations would like to thank the donors and volunteers who took part in the activities at the various sites.
