KANNERWONSCHBAM 2021 FOR THE 5TH TIME IN WILTZ
After a pandemic break in 2020, the 'Office social' of the municipality of Wiltz, together with the Lions Club Grand-Duché Ardennes, was able to organise the Kannerwonschbâm again this year, which is so popular with the children of the municipalities of Bauschleiden, Esch/Sauer, Goesdorf, Stauseegemeinde, Wiltz and Winseler.
The action consisted of granting a wish to children between 0 and 12 years of age from less well-off families at Christmas in the form of a gift (toy, book,...). The wish had to be illustrated by the child on a star and then displayed on a Christmas tree in the respective communities until 13 December. The inhabitants could then redeem these stars by buying the gift desired on the star or by making a donation. With the donations as well as the participation of its 'Fonds social', the Lions Club then redeemed the unaccounted stars.
In this way, on 16 December 2021, over 200 children were able to receive their gifts in the sports hall in Weidingen, unfortunately again under strict Covid-19 control measures.
The Lions Club again made sure that each child received an additional bag of goodies.
The joy of the recipients was enormous and for the organisers and sponsors there was nothing better that afternoon than the shining eyes of the children when they received their gifts.
It should be noted that the children of the 'Centre d'autisme Roger Thelen' in Beckerich, the 'SOS Kannerduerf' in Mersch and the 'Lëlljer Gaart' were also presented with one of these goody bags by the Lions Club G.-D. Ardennes.
