Generators and Medical Equipment for Poltava Regional Hospital in Ukraine

Lions Luxembourg Foundation Press Release

On Wednesday, January 3, 2023, a shipment of several generators left the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the province of Poltava in central Ukraine.

This equipment will partly respond to the emergencies linked to the massive destruction of electrical installations.

This transport is the result of a collaboration between the Lions Luxembourg Foundation, the LUkraine association, the Caritas Luxembourg Foundation, Pharmaciens sans Frontières Luxembourg and the Lions Club Luxembourg Country. The partners also thank Mr. Salvatore Corelli for his valuable contribution to the establishment of contacts in Ukraine.

The authorities of Poltava and Kharkiv appealed to the Luxembourg partners because the hospitals in the region, which are intermittently deprived of electricity, are in dire need of generators to care for the many wounded who are pouring in from the bombed cities.

The Lions Luxembourg Foundation also responded directly to an appeal on RTL to transport an additional generator to Kharkiv donated by the Engel family.

The shipment includes a total of 22 generators, medical supplies and several pallets of food. The convoy also contains chocolates for the children to bring them some sweetness on the occasion of their Orthodox Christmas on January 7.

We would like to thank all our partners and the many private donors who mobilize daily to help the victims of the war in Ukraine. Without everyone's help, these actions would not be possible.

But unfortunately the war is not over and the population suffers especially from the lack of heating and electricity, that is why every donation is always welcome.
