Handing over of cheques by the Lions Club Fort-Vauban Luxembourg
Lions clubs operate worldwide under the motto "We serve". According to this motto, the ladies of the Lionsclub Fort-Vauban Luxembourg are sensitive to the needs of the poorest, both nationally and internationally. President Gundula Heyer-Piersanti was delighted recently to be able to hand over cheques for a total of 15,800 euros to seven associations active in Luxembourg, Ukraine and Africa. This is the financial result for the financial year 2021/2022. The speaker took the opportunity to thank all the members who contributed to this more than honourable financial result.
A donation of 9,000 euros was given to support the people of Ukraine. Other donations went to the "Strossenengelen" association for the benefit of the homeless, to the "Wonschstär" foundation which supports people with disabilities due to illness, accident or a negative blow of fate. The association "Mameranus" from Capellen received a donation for the realisation of the "Forest" project for the children of their two crèches, the Franco-Senegalese association "Village" for the care of children in a situation of family breakdown in Senegal. The cheque dedicated to the "Vollekskichen Luxembourg" will be used to purchase a washing machine and other household appliances, emergency financial aid was given to victims of the July 2021 floods in Echternach.
