"Take something positive out of the pandemic".
According to a proverb, everything negative always contains a positive aspect. In this spirit, on June 10, 2021, the ladies of the Lions Club Fort Vauban Luxembourg were able to hand over monetary donations amounting to € 24,500 to eight associations active in the social field.
Even in pandemic times, members showed interest in meeting in person as a club and maintaining the link. If these meetings had to be canceled due to the pandemic, they met through Zoom and the funds previously deposited remained in the club treasury: under the Lions motto "WE SERVE", the amounts collected through various actions were donated.
Thus, during a community evening, the president of the Club Fort Vauban, Lilly Hoenck, was able to hand over the collected € 24,500 to the representatives of the different associations. The donations went to the following organizations: Fondation de la Maison de la Porte Ouverte to finance driver's licenses for young women, Fondation Solina for the project "op de Patten"; Caritas Accueil for a health project for homeless people, "Bieschbecher Atelier" for the purchase of ergonomic chairs, "Liewen Dobaussen" for the purchase of a greenhouse for flower culture; the Association AFPL / support for relatives of psychosis disorders; "ONG eng oppen Hand fir Malawi" for training and support for women, and support for the "Téléthon", as every year.
On the occasion of the check presentation, the beneficiary associations presented the individual projects. The evening ended with a convivial meal together.
