Handing over of cheques by the
Lions Club Luxembourg Amitié
During an evening organised at their headquarters, the Parc Hotel Alvisse in Dommeldange, the President of the Lions Club Luxembourg Amitié, Marc Hentgen, handed over cheques for a total amount of 34,360€ to various associations, thus encouraging the commitment of the volunteers and executives of these associations and providing financial support for their altruistic actions in the service of needy people.
Thus, the following associations, represented at the event, were honoured:
Children's Aid of India and Nepal, Chain of Hope Luxembourg, Dignity, Kenia Frënn Lëtzebuerg, Friends of Gambia, Passerell-Humanity Asylum, Special Olympics and Wäertvollt Liewen.
In addition, financial support was given to 2 refugee families living in the Grand Duchy, and two Lions projects - District and Zone IV - were honoured.
Over the past 11 years, the Lions Club Luxembourg Amitié, thanks to its various social activities and true to the slogan "We serve", has been able to raise funds and make donations for a total amount of 230.000€.
