Check presentation by the
Lions Club Luxembourg Country
On July 7, 2025, in the lush green setting of Mutferter Haff, the Lions Club Luxembourg-Country celebrated the handover of power from outgoing president Valérie Lebeau to her successor Patrick Simon. Around thirty members and guests shared an evening marked by conviviality and commitment.
The meeting began with a presentation of the activities of Mutferter Haff and Mathëllef asbl by their director, Thierry Ries. This socio-therapeutic center supports people with mental health issues through equestrian and catering activities, promoting inclusion and rehabilitation.
One of the highlights was the presentation of two checks totaling €12,000 to associations working for essential causes: Europa Donna Luxembourg, committed to breast cancer awareness and prevention, and the Luxembourg Autism Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with autism.
The evening also featured the presentation of a Melvin Jones Award to Claude Krier for his generous donation, as well as the induction of three new Lions—Jean-François De Colle, Romain Labé, and Anne Molitor—who were welcomed with warmth and friendship.
Before passing the torch to her successor Patrick Simon, outgoing president Valérie Lebeau expressed her gratitude to her board of directors and praised the long-standing commitment of Marc Tock (secretary for 13 years) and Ed Weber (treasurer for 14 years).
It was a lively and inspiring evening, marked by the warmth, generosity, and collective spirit that animate the great Lions family.
